The 16th round of the Moroccan professional championship witnessed strong and exciting matches, with prominent results, most notably a big win for Raja Casablanca, and an exciting draw between Union Yacoub El Mansour and the Royal Army, in addition to Maghreb Fes temporarily topping the standings.
Raja Casablanca regained its balance strongly after thrashing its guest, Fath Union Sport, with a score of (4-1), in a match hosted by the Mohammed V Stadium, amid a large audience atmosphere that revived the Casablanca stadium after a long break for the Green team. Raja opened the scoring early through player Adam Ennafati in the 13th minute, before Ousmane Sakho strengthened the result with a second goal in the 41st minute, to end the home side leading with a comfortable double. In the second half, Raja continued its pressure, and added the third goal after a mistake against the Fath goal, before the latter succeeded in narrowing the gap through Anas Serghat in the 66th minute, but Raja returned strongly to settle the match with a fourth goal signed by player Mohamed Charrara, after effective changes by coach Fadlu Davids. With this victory, Raja Casablanca raised its score to 33 points in second place, while Fath Union Sport's score was frozen at 18 points in eighth place, to continue the Green team's pressure on the top of the standings. In another exciting match, the match between Union Yacoub El Mansour and the Royal Army ended in a positive draw (2-2), in a match hosted by the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium. With this tie, the two teams shared the points in a strong match that confirmed the difficulty of the competition during the second leg. In a related context, Maghreb Fes continued its brilliance this season, after winning over Renaissance Zemamra, to temporarily top the standings with 34 points, in a heated race for the championship title.
