HIBAPRESS – A. Mahyaoui
The security services in the city of Sefrou have opened a judicial investigation, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, following the exposure of a 19-year-old young woman to a gang sexual assault, in an incident that shook local public opinion and caused widespread mobilization.
According to preliminary data, the victim was found on the evening of Tuesday, April 28, in the "Belhamar Forest" area, in a critical health and psychological condition, after being assaulted by unknown persons, and investigations are still ongoing to identify them and arrest them. Immediately after being notified, the local authorities and national security elements moved to the scene, where the victim was quickly transported to the Mohammed V Regional Hospital in Sefrou to receive first aid. Due to the seriousness of her condition, and the difficulty of communicating with her at that time, it was decided to transfer her to the emergency department at the Hassan II University Hospital Center in Fez, in order to subject her to the necessary treatments and specialized medical follow-up. In parallel, the security services began intensive field investigations, using various technical means, in order to reveal the circumstances of this crime and identify those involved in it, in accordance with the instructions of the Public Prosecution, which emphasized the need to accelerate the pace of the investigation and ensure comprehensive care for the victim, both at the health and psychological levels. This incident has caused shock and resentment in the community, amid calls to tighten security measures and strengthen protection mechanisms, especially in isolated spaces, in addition to emphasizing the importance of accompanying the victims and providing them with the necessary support.
