In an initiative that recalls the importance of proactive solidarity with mountainous regions facing harsh climatic conditions, the "Khamsa for Development and Solidarity" association in Rabat has launched a humanitarian appeal to collect aid for the residents of Tinghir province, in anticipation of the challenges that winter may impose socially and materially.
This appeal came after contact with Ms. Raja Al-Qamash, the association's president, with HIBAPRESS newspaper, where she highlighted the difficulties faced by residents during periods of snowfall and storms, and the accompanying road closures and travel difficulties. This can isolate some areas and delay citizens from attending to their needs for long periods, in addition to its impact on the normal flow of education in educational institutions. The association seeks, through this initiative, to provide essential aid including blankets, winter clothing, and food items, contributing to alleviating the suffering of families and helping them face the cold, especially in areas where climatic conditions are severe during winter. Raja Al-Qamash affirmed that the association has already begun directing appeals to national institutions and companies, with the aim of mobilizing the necessary resources to make the campaign a success and ensure the provision of as much aid as possible before the intensification of weather fluctuations. In return, the association addressed an invitation to philanthropists, economic actors, and various components of society to contribute to this initiative, whether through in-kind aid or financial support through the association's bank account. This initiative relies on the involvement of various actors in a solidarity effort that anticipates the repercussions of winter and places the needs of the residents at the core of attention, with the aim of mitigating the effects of climatic isolation and preserving the living conditions of the most needy families in Tinghir province.
