HIBAPRESS – A. Mahyawi
A mixed regional committee, within the framework of routine market and food sales point monitoring operations, was able to seize a large quantity of poultry unfit for consumption, during a surprise field intervention carried out the day before yesterday, Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in the Al-Maghreb Al-Arabi neighborhood of the city of Kenitra.
This operation came after an inspection visit targeting a poultry shop near the fish market, where initial inspections revealed 416 kilograms of meat stored in unsanitary conditions, lacking the required safety and quality standards, making it unfit for human consumption. According to the available data, this quantity was intended for distribution to a number of grilling shops and some restaurants, which would have exposed consumers' health to serious risks, especially with the increasing demand for this type of meal. After the seizure of these violations, the competent authorities intervened to seize the quantity and destroy it according to the approved legal procedures. A violation report was also issued against the shop owner, pending the necessary legal actions in this regard. This intervention reflects the vigilance of the local authorities and the concerned departments in addressing anything that would affect consumer safety, as inspection campaigns continue regularly to monitor the quality of food products offered in the markets. The competent authorities also called on all professionals to strictly adhere to hygiene and storage standards, and to respect the laws in force, to avoid any legal follow-up, and to ensure the safety and health of citizens.
