HIBAPRESS – Agencies
A tanker was attacked with unknown projectiles off the coast of the UAE, according to a British maritime agency on Monday, at a time when the United States announced a plan to escort ships through the closed Strait of Hormuz.
The British Maritime Trade Operations Authority said that "an oil tanker reported being attacked with unknown projectiles," adding that all crew members were safe. The incident occurred 78 nautical miles north of the UAE city of Fujairah. The British authority called on ships to exercise caution while crossing the area, while the authorities are conducting their investigations.
