HIBAPRESS – Sports
The Moroccan national team has decided on its base during the 2026 World Cup, which will be held jointly between the United States of America, Canada, and Mexico.
According to "The Athletic" website, the "Atlas Lions" have chosen the American state of New Jersey to be their residence throughout the tournament, along with the national teams of Brazil, Senegal, and Haiti. The source indicated that New Jersey is one of the most requested areas to host training camps for the national teams participating in the World Cup, along with Kansas City, which will host major national teams such as Argentina, England, and the Netherlands. The Moroccan national team will also conduct its training inside the "Pingry" school, a facility that previously hosted the Italian national team during the 1994 World Cup, when the "Azzurri" reached the final. The Governor of New Jersey, Mickey Sherrill, welcomed Morocco and the other teams' choice of the state as their base during the tournament, confirming that the event represents a historic opportunity for the region. She added that hosting teams such as Morocco, Brazil, Senegal, and Haiti will reflect positively on economic and tourism activity, noting that the choice of New Jersey enhances its position as a global destination for major sporting events.
