HIBAPRESS
The administration of the Ain Sebaâ 1 local prison has broken its silence, responding to what was circulated via the social media site Facebook regarding the health condition of a prisoner, and the accompanying claims related to denying him treatment and subjecting him to mistreatment.
The institution's administration clarified, in an explanatory statement, that the concerned prisoner (M.Kh) is indeed suffering from high pressure in his eyes, indicating that he underwent several medical examinations, the last of which was on May 5, 2026. He also regularly benefits from the appropriate medications for his condition, as he was provided with his last therapeutic dose on April 14, 2026. The administration added that a medical appointment for the prisoner was scheduled to be presented to a specialist doctor in eye diseases at an external hospital institution, as part of monitoring his health condition. Regarding the claim of his suffering from asthma, the prison administration confirmed that the person in question did not provide any medical document proving this. As for what was circulated about preventing him from meeting the doctor and being subjected to violence, the institution categorically denied these allegations, stressing that they are "baseless claims," explaining that the institution did not receive any eye specialist doctor on the date indicated, nor was the prisoner recorded as being subjected to any form of violence by employees. The administration concluded its clarification by emphasizing its keenness to ensure the health care of the inmates in accordance with the laws in force, calling for accuracy before publishing such claims.
