The Casablanca security directorate reacted with great seriousness to a video posted on social media pages, showing a person robbing a woman with a knife and possessing a weapon in circumstances that pose a danger to people and property.
The investigations carried out clarified that the video is old and was re-posted outside of its temporal context, and that the police services in the Moulay Rachid security district in Casablanca had previously interacted with the information contained in it, and the suspect was subjected to judicial investigation procedures and referred to the competent Public Prosecution.
The investigations also showed that the person appearing in this video is currently serving a two-year prison sentence, after a judicial ruling was issued against him in this regard starting from October 23, 2024.
While the Casablanca security directorate is keen to clarify the information related to this video, it affirms in return its serious and positive interaction with everything that would affect the sense of security among citizens.
