HIBAPRESS
Retired judge Malika Amri passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the age of 71, after years of service in the judiciary, during which she left a professional presence that resonated with a number of her colleagues and acquaintances.
The deceased's name had resurfaced last year, after she published a video on "YouTube" in June 2024, in which she spoke about what she described as a real estate fraud that targeted her family, and through which she addressed a plea to King Mohammed VI as the guarantor of the independence of the judiciary.
This was followed by the opening of an investigation by the Public Prosecution in Casablanca, in coordination with the National Brigade of Judicial Police, which ended with her being prosecuted on charges related to broadcasting incorrect information, defamation, and attempting to influence the course of cases presented to the judiciary.
An initial sentence of three years in prison was issued against her, before the Court of Appeal decided to reduce the sentence to eight months in prison, which she spent in full until March 2025, where she left the prison institution and returned to her life away from the forefront.
With her passing, the curtain falls on the path of a judge whose name occupied public opinion between praising her professional career and recalling the details of her judicial follow-up in the recent period.
