Redouane Jiyed, the National Referee Director, announced that the Moroccan professional league will adopt semi-automated offside technology starting from the next football season, in a new step to develop the national refereeing system.
The same official explained that the federation has contracted with a specialized international company to implement this modern technology, which aims to increase the accuracy of refereeing decisions and reduce the margin of error in offside-related situations. With this decision, Morocco will be the first African country to adopt semi-automated offside technology in its local competitions, within a framework aimed at keeping pace with the technological developments that global football is witnessing and enhancing the credibility of the professional league.
