In recent days, advertisements have spread on social media promoting special offers to travel to the United States of America in order to support the Moroccan national football team in the World Cup finals, through what were said to be travel agencies providing comprehensive packages at prices ranging between 20,000 and 30,000 dirhams.
According to what is being promoted, these offers include round-trip tickets via direct flights, accommodation in classified hotels throughout the Moroccan team's participation period, in addition to match tickets, which raised widespread doubts among followers who considered the announced prices illogical compared to the expected actual cost during the World Cup period.
According to followers, air tickets alone to the United States during the World Cup period may exceed $1,500, without calculating hotel accommodation costs, which rise significantly during global events, as well as the prices of match tickets, the cheapest categories of which have been sold out for some time.
A number of social media activists called on citizens to be cautious and not to transfer any financial amounts before verifying the legality of travel agencies and the identity of the advertising parties, warning of the possibility of these offers turning into scams targeting those wishing to follow the participation of the "Atlas Lions" in the World Cup.
