The Secretary-General, Abdelilah Benkirane, responded to the campaign circulating under the slogan "Let Him Baa," emphasizing that the call to abandon the Eid al-Adha ritual in general carries a harsh judgment on a large segment of Moroccans, especially the residents of the countryside and the rural world.
Benkirane said that those who repeat the phrase "Let Him Baa" are as if they are "judging their Bedouin brother in the countryside with poverty and boundless need," considering that many Moroccan families still see Eid al-Adha as an important religious and social occasion. Benkirane explained that he supports sacrificing during Eid for those who have the financial ability, pointing out that the matter should remain linked to affordability without undue burden or social pressure. Benkirane also spoke about a group of citizens who no longer prefer to perform the Eid rituals, attributing this sometimes to a change in lifestyle, saying, "Some modern women cannot handle the work of this Eid and prefer to spend this occasion in hotels," before advising this group to donate a sum of money to the benefit of needy families who wish to celebrate the Eid ritual but do not have sufficient means.
