HIBAPRESS – Ahmed Al-Musaed
On the occasion of the commemoration of the twenty-first anniversary of the launch of the National Initiative for Human Development, the Jerada province witnessed the organization of a set of health and social initiatives aimed at enhancing the health offer and bringing medical and rehabilitation services closer to the population, within the framework of continuous care for the health of citizens, supporting vulnerable groups, and enhancing human capital.
In this context, the governor of Jerada province oversaw the inauguration of a physical rehabilitation, vision correction, and speech therapy center, implemented within the framework of a partnership between the delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in the Jerada province and the National Initiative for Human Development. This is a step aimed at enhancing health and social rehabilitation services in the province and bringing care services closer to the targeted groups.
This center extends over an area of approximately 250 square meters, with a total cost of 2.65 million dirhams, benefiting a population estimated at 103,147 people. It includes four basic specializations: psychomotor therapy, vision correction, speech therapy, and physical therapy. It also aims to provide specialized services for children and people with disabilities, as well as patients in need of physical therapy, speech therapy, and vision correction, through a multi-specialty follow-up that contributes to improving the quality of life and enhancing the social and health integration of beneficiaries.
This inauguration provided an opportunity to review the various facilities and equipment available at the center, which will enhance the quality of services provided and strengthen care for the groups that need functional, speech, and vision rehabilitation services in the province. This project is a manifestation of the care that the regional authorities, the health sector, and their partners give to the health and rehabilitation sector, and an involvement in implementing the goals of the National Initiative for Human Development aimed at achieving spatial and social justice.
In the same context, and within the framework of efforts to promote school health and improve preventive services for students, a multi-specialty medical convoy was organized for the benefit of students in the Ain Beni Mathar district, within the program to promote health in the school environment. This health initiative aimed to support the early detection of diseases and health problems among students, and to bring medical services closer to educational institutions, in addition to raising health awareness and consolidating a culture of prevention among young people.
This convoy witnessed a significant mobilization of a number of health and medical cadres from various specializations, where appropriate organizational and health conditions were provided to ensure the quality of the services provided.
The medical interventions included 98 consultations in pediatrics, 270 examinations and consultations in ophthalmology, 41 consultations in the ear, nose, and throat specialization, with the recording of 12 cases suffering from hearing loss or loss, in addition to 290 examinations and treatments in dentistry, and 340 consultations in general medicine.
This convoy enabled the provision of a significant number of health services for the benefit of the benefiting students, and cases that require medical follow-up or additional examinations were directed to the specialized health institutions in order to complete their care. This initiative also achieved great success thanks to the active participation of health and educational cadres, and the contribution of various partners and stakeholders who contributed to the success of this humanitarian and preventive operation.
These health and social initiatives highlight the importance of continuing to support school health programs and rehabilitation services, as they are a basic lever for improving the quality of health services and ensuring better care for the various targeted groups, while emphasizing the need to continue organizing such initiatives periodically, which contributes to enhancing the health of the population and achieving sustainable human development in the province.
