HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
The prices of "local cumin" are witnessing a noticeable increase with the approach of Eid al-Adha, where the price per kilogram in a number of markets in Casablanca has reached about 180 dirhams, an increase that has sparked dissatisfaction among a number of citizens preparing to purchase Eid supplies.
This increase comes in conjunction with the growing demand for spices and products related to the preparation of Eid al-Adha dishes, especially "Boullfaf" and "Taglia" and other traditional dishes that are strongly prepared on Moroccan tables during this occasion. Professionals believe that the seasonal increase in demand, along with the costs of supply and distribution, are among the most prominent factors that contributed to the rise in prices in recent days, especially within the major cities that are witnessing increasing demand for the purchase of Eid needs. While citizens continue to prepare for the religious occasion, the prices of "local cumin" are added to the list of products that are experiencing an increase as Eid approaches, which increases the pressure on the budgets of a number of Moroccan families.
