HIBAPRESS – Ahmed Al-Musaed
On Saturday, May 23rd, Figuig province witnessed the opening of the Wad Zalmo and Al-Biyaza bridges to traffic, following the completion of the works. This will improve the flow of movement and enhance road safety on this vital axis.
The first facility concerns the Wad Zalmo bridge located on national road number 17 linking Bouanane in the direction of Rachidia, while the second relates to the Al-Biyaza bridge linking the cities of Bouarfa and Figuig, both of which are key points within the province's transportation network. These two bridges will contribute to improving traffic conditions and alleviating the constraints that these road sections used to experience, especially during periods of climatic disturbances or a rise in water levels, ensuring smoother and safer travel for road users. The construction of the two bridges comes within the framework of a flood mitigation program, especially at the points that were experiencing interruptions or difficulties in traffic during heavy rainfall, in addition to contributing to breaking isolation and strengthening road connections between neighboring communities and centers. The opening of the Wad Zalmo and Al-Biyaza bridges has brought relief to the residents and road users, given their importance in facilitating daily movement and ensuring better traffic flow.
