The Wali of the Souss-Massa region, the governor of the prefecture of Agadir Ida Outanane, Said Amzazi, this Saturday morning, May 23rd, conducted a field visit to the Rahba for selling Eid sacrifices in the Takouine area, accompanied by an important delegation that included officials from the Agadir region and a number of regional services, in order to closely observe the conditions of displaying and selling sheep and goats, with the approach of Eid al-Adha.
This visit falls within the framework of following up on the implementation of government measures aimed at organizing the process of marketing sacrifices, by limiting sales within licensed markets and controlling direct sales operations from farms, in a way that limits speculation and the control of intermediaries over prices, and protects the purchasing power of citizens. The Wali inspected the various organizational and logistical arrangements adopted within the Rahba, in addition to the extent of compliance with health and safety conditions, in order to ensure the safety of sellers and users. Amzazi also reviewed the quality of the sacrifices offered and the prevailing price levels, where he stressed the need to intensify field monitoring and conduct regular patrols by the competent authorities, to address all manifestations of fraud and monopoly and ensure the normal conduct of the sale process in a transparent and organized atmosphere. The area of the Rahba allocated this year is about 7 hectares, and it has received a total of 21,541 heads of sheep and goats, supervised by 306 operators distributed over four main sections, the first of which includes 11,355 heads, the second 4,022 heads, the third 4,751 heads, while the fourth section includes 1,413 heads. The local authorities confirmed that they have taken all measures to facilitate the process of purchasing sacrifices in appropriate and safe conditions, which ensures the smooth flow of movement within the Rahba and maintains the regular conduct of this process, in an atmosphere characterized by reassurance and the spirit of solidarity that distinguishes this religious occasion.
