HIBAPRESS – Tifelt
The Tifelt Municipal Council opened, on Tuesday morning, October 6, 2026, at the Citizen's House, the works of the first session of its ordinary October session, presided over by Mohamed Berqa on behalf of Abdel Samad Archan, and in the presence of the acting Pasha of the city, council members, and municipal officials. After reviewing the presidency's activities and reading the reports of Hamada Touki (Budget Committee) and Mohamed El Banouri (Facilities Committee), the session witnessed deliberation on a package of financial, service, and real estate files.
On the financial and service front, the council decided to postpone the 2027 budget project due to the members not receiving the necessary documents. The council approved by a majority the delegation of the president to complete the procedures for the tender and award the contract for the delegated management of the sanitation sector (waste collection, street sweeping, and emptying at the public landfill). Approval was also given for the transfer of allocations from the 2026 management budget amounting to 199,479.93 Moroccan Dirhams, including 191,479.93 Dirhams for "loan repayment" and 8,000 Dirhams for the settlement of judicial rulings and amicable agreements.
Regarding road safety and transportation, the two proposals submitted by counselor Ismail El Banouri received unanimous approval from the council. The first proposal decided to install speed bumps to reduce speed and to install cameras to monitor speed at points with heavy traffic, specifically on the ring road and Al Massira Al Khadra and Mohamed V streets, to ensure the safety of road users. In the second proposal, the council unanimously agreed to submit a request to the governor of the Khémisset province to study the possibility of licensing first-class taxis to transport citizens within the urban area (starting from central Tifelt towards specific points), in order to facilitate mobility and improve transportation services in the city.
On the other hand, the council opted for a delay in the real estate section and decided to postpone the sixth and seventh items on the agenda until the technical committee is present and provides the necessary clarifications. The sixth item concerns studying and approving a real estate exchange between the municipality and a private individual to resolve the overlapping situation of a part of his property with the real estate belonging to the road. The seventh item concerns the approval of the minutes of the administrative committee for the evaluation that determines the commercial value of land plots allocated for a real estate exchange with a private individual.
