The Lirac district, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Saiss district in Fez, witnessed a security alert this Monday morning following an armed robbery at a money transfer agency belonging to the Wafacash network.
A source revealed that a person broke into the agency around nine in the morning, threatened the employee with a bladed weapon, and managed to seize an estimated amount of one thousand dirhams before fleeing to an unknown destination immediately after the operation. The same source added that the incident alerted various security services under the Fez security directorate, where elements of the scientific and technical police arrived at the scene to begin investigations and collect evidence, in parallel with opening an investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, in order to determine the circumstances of the incident, as well as to identify and arrest the suspect. The incident caused a state of concern among the residents of the neighborhood and users of the agency, especially since the operation was carried out in the morning, which is a normal time for citizens' movement, while the security services continue their investigations based on witness statements and recordings from surveillance cameras available in the vicinity of the agency.
