As part of the strategic program for the electricity supply to the port and industrial complex "Nador West Med", the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water, on Sunday, commissioned a second very high voltage line (225 kilovolts), with the aim of strengthening the electricity supply system to cover the short and medium-term needs of this facility.
A statement from the office explained that this new infrastructure, which was commissioned one year after the first 225-kilovolt line was put into operation by the office in May 2025, constitutes an important second phase in implementing the comprehensive plan for electricity supply to the port complex and its future industrial areas. The completion of this facility required the mobilization of significant human and technical resources, with continuous support from the local authorities, which enabled its commissioning within the specified deadlines. According to the same source, this new facility will enable the enhancement of the electricity supply to the Nador West Med complex, and to keep pace with the anticipated development of future port and industrial activities on the site. The statement concluded that the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water, through this structural project, affirms its commitment to continue developing strategic electrical infrastructure for the Kingdom, and to keep pace with the economic and industrial dynamism witnessed by the Oriental region.
