HIBAPRESS-Inzgan
The emergency department at the Inzgan Regional Hospital witnessed, in recent hours, an unprecedented state of alert, coinciding with the atmosphere of the "Boujloud" (Bilmawn) celebrations, which are taking place in several neighborhoods on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, and the accompanying manifestations of violence and chaos.
According to consistent data, the medical services received dozens of cases injured with varying degrees of severity, as a result of fights and acts of violence that broke out in a number of locations, where sharp tools were sometimes used, which doubled the pressure on the health cadres who found themselves facing a large influx of cases in a short period of time. The department also received other cases related to traffic accidents, especially those in which motorcycles were involved, in light of the spread of contexts of show driving and excessive speed within neighborhoods, which exacerbates the seriousness of the situation during this occasion. Faced with this increasing pressure, the medical and nursing staff were forced to a comprehensive mobilization to ensure the necessary interventions and provide first aid in exceptional circumstances, amid increasing demands for the need to enhance the security presence around the health institution, to ensure the safety of its workers and avoid any potential tensions. Local actors called for intensifying security patrols around the neighborhoods that witness large gatherings, with intensified monitoring to reduce manifestations of violence and unrest, to ensure that these festive atmospheres pass in safe conditions and preserve the safety of citizens.
