HIBAPRESS: The Inspectorate of the Istiqlal Party in Tangier has decided to refer the municipal councilor in the Bani Makada district, Jamal Al-Aoumi, to the regional arbitration and disciplinary committee, following statements that sparked widespread controversy during a live broadcast via "Facebook," in which he criticized a number of party leaders and elected officials in the city.
According to circulating information, Al-Aoumi's statements included a direct attack on some prominent names within the party, including the head of the Bani Makada district, Mohamed Al-Hamami, which the party leadership considered a violation of the organizational regulations and the institutional framework adopted in managing internal disputes. The party's inspectorate in Tangier affirmed, in an official position, that the statements issued by the person concerned were characterized by "impulsiveness and irresponsible speech," stressing that the opinions he expressed do not represent the Istiqlal Party nor reflect its official positions or political orientations. The same sources added that the party decided to initiate disciplinary procedures stipulated in its organizational laws, in a step aimed at maintaining internal discipline and the party's image in the public eye, especially in light of the escalating political discussions related to the management of local affairs in the city of Tangier. These developments come at a time when the local political scene is witnessing increasing discussion about the performance of elected officials and the nature of disputes within some party bodies, especially with the increasing use of social media platforms to settle political scores and express positions publicly.
