More than 20,000 Moroccans from around the world have chosen to transit through the port of Al Hoceima
Since the launch of Operation Marhaba 2024 until yesterday Monday, the port of Al Hoceima has welcomed 20,908 members of the Moroccan community residing abroad.
The port director, Adel Al-Bardi, explained in a statement to the Maghreb Arab News Agency that the number of passengers who used the port of Al Hoceima was divided between 17,946 passengers who arrived in Morocco through this sea gate, and 2,962 passengers who left for their homes abroad.
Regarding vehicles, the same source revealed that the port witnessed the passage of a total of 5,305 vehicles, including 4,490 arriving vehicles and 815 departing vehicles, indicating that the vehicle transit rate decreased by about 20 percent, compared to the same period of Operation Hello. 2023.
In the same context, he pointed out that the number of arrivals, including passengers and vehicles, increased by 17 percent after the start of the organization of flights between Al Hoceima and the port of Motril in Spain, compared to the first weeks of the start of the arrival phase for members of the Moroccan community residing abroad.
In addition, Mr. Al-Bardi stressed that the National Ports Agency is constantly working to support the equipment of the port with the latest safety, security and comfort equipment, as well as to strengthen its coordination with the various departments concerned by this maritime station in order to strengthen joint cooperation and ensure the optimal progress of the Marhaba operation.
