Sofiane Rahimi, the star of the Moroccan Olympic team, continued to shine at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The Moroccan national team faced its Egyptian counterpart on Thursday evening at the “La Beaujoire” stadium, in a match that allowed the Lions to win the first Arab medal in the history of team games at the Olympics.
Rahimi, 28, managed to continue writing history after scoring a brace against the Egyptian national team, increasing the tournament’s top scorer ranking with 8 goals.
He also became the first player in Olympic history to score in every match from the group stage to today’s game, helping the Lions finish third and win the bronze medal.
Sofiane Rahimi leads the list of goalscorers at the Paris Olympics, with 8 goals, at least 4 goals ahead of any other player in football competitions.
It is worth noting that Rahimi surpassed Zambian duo Kalusha Bwalya and Ghanaian Kwame Ayew, as each of them scored 6 goals in one edition, the first in 1988 and the second in 1992.
