HIBAPRESS – Mohammed Zerouih
As part of its efforts to protect consumers and safeguard food security, a joint provincial committee in the province of Nador has issued a decisive decision to close a well-known commercial establishment, following periodic inspection campaigns aimed at monitoring the commitment of restaurants, fast-food outlets, and cafes to health and safety standards.
Detailed field inspections carried out by the competent authorities revealed a dangerous situation within the aforementioned premises. This led to the seizure of significant quantities of expired food products and others of unknown origin, which were stored in inappropriate conditions, indicating grave risks to consumer health.
The inspection reports were not limited to the confiscation of spoiled goods alone, but also documented multiple regulatory discrepancies. The most prominent of these was the failure to adhere to basic public hygiene standards, in addition to a clear violation represented by the discrepancy between the establishment's actual activity and the nature of the administrative license granted to it. The original license was limited to its operation as a dairy shop, while it was engaged in parallel activities typical of cafes.
In a related context, the committee recorded violations related to labor law, primarily the employment of unregistered labor and the absence of their declaration to the relevant social institutions, which deepened the extent of the violations attributed to the officials responsible for the commercial premises.
This strict field action reflects the determination of the local authorities and supervisory bodies in Nador to firmly confront all arbitrary practices and violations that affect the safety of citizens, emphasizing the continuation of their inspection campaigns to enforce compliance with applicable laws.
