Moroccan international Ayoub El Kaabi, striker for Greek club Olympiacos, sustained a severe injury during his team's match against Volos on Saturday evening, as part of the Greek League competitions.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with Jota Silva scoring Olympiacos' goal from a penalty in the 45+1 minute.
The penalty came after El Kaabi fell inside the penalty area, after the Moroccan striker had made a run before colliding with Marios Siampanis, the goalkeeper for Volos, in a moment that resulted in his injury.
Footage circulating showed El Kaabi in severe pain before the medical staff intervened to escort him off the field.
