The shrine of Moulay Bouchta El Khammar, affiliated with the municipality and leadership of Moulay Bouchta in the village of Bani Muhammad in the province of Taounate, witnessed on Sunday, September 6, 2026, the handover ceremony of a royal gift for the Safiyyin and Derqaouiyyin, on the occasion of commemorating the 28th anniversary of the passing of King Hassan II.
A committee tasked with distributing the royal gift to the guardians of Zawiyas and shrines presided over the ceremony, in the presence of the governor of Taounate province, where the handover took place for the representatives of the Safiyyin and Derqaouiyyin.
The ceremony was attended by the head of the local scientific council, along with local authorities, heads of security services, the provincial delegate for Islamic affairs, and representatives of the Safiyyin and Derqaouiyyin.
The religious ceremony included the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and the chanting of prophetic praises, in addition to prayers for King Mohammed VI, his Crown Prince Prince Moulay El Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid, and all members of the royal family.
The attendees also prayed for mercy and forgiveness for King Mohammed V and King Hassan II.
On this occasion, the representatives of the Safiyyin and Derqaouiyyin expressed their loyalty to King Mohammed VI and thanked him for what they described as the attention directed towards the descendants of the Prophet, imams, jurists, and followers of Zawiyas and shrines.
The royal gift handover ceremony is part of the commemoration of the 28th anniversary of the passing of King Hassan II, with the participation of a number of representatives of authorities, religious institutions, and descendants of the Prophet in the province of Taounate.
