HIBAPRESS – Follow-up
Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares announced his government's rejection of any doubts or statements that undermine what Madrid considers its territorial integrity, in light of the controversy surrounding the occupied enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla.
Albares stated in remarks to the Spanish media that his country will not accept "any doubt or comment" regarding its territorial integrity.
The head of Spanish diplomacy considered that such statements would negatively affect bilateral relations, pointing out that they lead to a "deterioration" in the level of relations between Madrid and Rabat.
In a related context, Albares traveled to Brussels on Tuesday, carrying the file of the occupied enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla to European institutions, with the aim of pushing for the strengthening of the two cities' connection to the European Union, particularly on the security and economic levels.
