HIBAPRESS – Salé
The residents of Al-Maamoura neighborhood in Salé city are experiencing daily suffering due to the limited public transportation options connecting the neighborhood to Rabat city, amidst the increasing needs of citizens and students for regular and fast travel between the two cities.
The residents complain that the direct connection between Al-Maamoura neighborhood and Rabat is limited to one bus line, with long waiting times that can reach a full hour between buses, which exacerbates the difficulty of travel, especially during peak hours.
The repercussions of this situation are not limited to the general public, but also extend to students who pursue their studies at the Faculty of Economic and Legal Sciences, whether they are coming from Rabat towards the university institution or residents of the neighborhood heading to it, as many find themselves facing repeated difficulties in reaching their destinations on time.
The crisis intensifies, according to residents, with the absence of large taxis that could serve as an additional mode of transport between Al-Maamoura neighborhood and Rabat city, leaving citizens with limited options, especially during periods of high demand for transportation.
In light of this situation, the residents of Al-Maamoura neighborhood are demanding the reinforcement of public transport lines connecting the neighborhood and Rabat, an increase in the number of buses, and a reduction in waiting times, in addition to providing alternative solutions that meet the needs of citizens and students.
