Algerian boxer Iman Khalif will fight her last fight at the 2024 Paris Olympics, in the 66-kilogram final against China’s Liu Yuang at Roland Garros, in the hope of turning the page on doubts about her sexual identity and winning a gold medal.
The International Olympic Committee allowed her to compete after she was suspended by the International Federation, along with Taiwanese boxer Lin Yu-ting, at the world championships last year for failing gender eligibility tests.
Khalif was later banned from competing in the World Championships final in New Delhi because he did not meet the eligibility criteria for gender and “testosterone levels”, according to the Olympics website, which later deleted the explanation.
The fight between the Algerian boxers is scheduled to take place today, Friday, at the Roland Garros stadium. The expected fiery clash will start at 11:50 a.m. Mecca time and in Doha at 9:50 p.m. Morocco and Algeria time.
The confrontation will be broadcast on the channels of the Qatari group “BeIN Sports”, the exclusive owner of the broadcast of Olympic competitions in the Middle East and North Africa.
The fight will be broadcast on beIN SPORTS HD9.
