Morocco has maintained its presence among the top foreign destinations visited by Belgians for travel and tourism, ranking among the top ten destinations for the year 2025, according to the latest data from the Belgian statistics office "Statbel".
According to the results of the annual travel survey, published on Thursday, Morocco ranked sixth among foreign destinations in terms of total number of trips, with nearly 700,000 trips, while it came in tenth place for tourist trips, recording about 335,000 trips.
France topped the list of foreign destinations for residents in Belgium, with about 6,856,000 trips, significantly ahead of the Netherlands, which recorded 2,633,000 trips, followed by Spain with 2,217,000 trips. Italy and Germany came in fourth and fifth place, with 1.452 million and 1.437 million trips respectively.
In contrast, Morocco surpassed a number of prominent European destinations, including the United Kingdom, which recorded about 660,000 trips, Portugal with 558,000, Austria with 509,000, and Greece with 428,000 trips, making it the most prominent non-European destination within the top ten list.
