The road section connecting the cities of Nador and Azghanan, specifically near the (Total) distribution station in the Jaadar area, is experiencing a worrying situation that reflects clear deficiencies in the management of road infrastructure and a complete absence of basic safety conditions that guarantee the protection of citizens' lives and users of this vital road.
This road section has become a black spot claiming the lives of many victims and causing significant material losses, due to poor engineering performance and the absence of clear road signage and adequate public lighting, which doubles the risks of travel, especially during the night and peak hours.
In this context, the regional branch of the Moroccan League for the Defense of Human Rights has stepped in regarding these serious violations, expressing its deep concern over the continued bloodshed on this road axis in light of the silence of the supervisory authorities and their lack of serious engagement with the calls of lifeguards and local civil society entities.
In implementation of the principle of linking responsibility to accountability, the human rights branch demands an urgent and independent administrative and judicial investigation to determine the circumstances and details of the recurring fatal accidents, and to establish legal consequences and responsibilities for the dire conditions that have befallen the mentioned section without delay or procrastination.
In conclusion, the human rights body appeals to all competent authorities and elected officials to intervene immediately and urgently to repair and rehabilitate this dilapidated infrastructure, and to take urgent measures to ensure smooth traffic flow and the safety of citizens before further tragedies occur.
Rahamna Gendarmerie Arrests Wanted Suspect in Possession of Significant Quantity of Hard Drugs
The Royal Gendarmerie in the province of Rahamna, the day before yesterday, Wednesday, managed to apprehend a person wanted nationally at the level of Ain Salam village in the Jaïdat municipality in the same province.
According to the newspaper's sources, the arrest operation took place after the Royal Gendarmerie received information about the suspect's whereabouts. He was apprehended and found in possession of a significant quantity of hard drugs.
The suspect has been placed under police custody pending the preliminary investigation, under the supervision of the competent public prosecution.
