Agadir: This is how the marina “Marina” was transformed into a landfill
The most famous entertainment and tourist port in the Kingdom, the “Marina” of Agadir, has become a black spot due to environmental pollution due to the accumulation of waste, which causes the death of fish species, then unpleasant odors fill the noses of visitors to this port, which has not yet received the necessary care, despite the cleanliness campaign launched by Governor Amzazi which began at the beginning of the current summer season.
Those concerned with environmental issues in the city have already warned of the danger of turning the marina “Marina” into a landfill, despite its importance in boosting recreational tourism, which attracts visitors from all over the world, thanks to its charming location and calm marine atmosphere that characterizes the Bay of Agadir.
According to concerned sources, the main reason for the pollution of the port “Marina” is due to irresponsible individual actions, with some visitors randomly throwing garbage and waste into the water. This waste accumulates, turning its water into a polluted area that affects the surrounding environment and distorts the aesthetics of the place.
Our sources added that there are other actions by boat owners that are beyond the control of the relevant authorities, such as pouring engine oil into the water or throwing cleaning products, which are chemicals that threaten marine life.
