The Court of Appeal in Al Hoceima has concluded a case that garnered attention due to a dispute between a married couple, after upholding the initial ruling which convicted the wife for expelling her husband from their marital home.
The case details date back to March of last year, when the husband filed a complaint with the Public Prosecution at the Court of First Instance in Al Hoceima, following his expulsion from the marital home. The Public Prosecution then decided to pursue the wife and refer her to the court for trial on the charges brought against her.
On April 14, 2026, the Court of First Instance in Al Hoceima issued its ruling in the case, convicting the wife and sentencing her to two months in jail and a fine of 2000 dirhams. Additionally, the court awarded the expelled husband civil compensation amounting to 2000 dirhams.
