A terrible whirlpool recently formed on the immense Lake Texoma in the state of Texas in the United States. The US Army Corps of Engineers posted a video of the famous whirlpool, indicating in passing that it measures 2.4 meters in diameter.

However, the mystery is quickly lifted by the same hydrological managers of this lake.

This lake is one of the largest artificial lakes in the United States. When the water level is too high (above 190 meters), as it is right now, the Army Corps opens the discharge valves located at the bottom of the lake to let the water escape into the river. A vortex forms there like in a bathtub, explains the manager of Lake Texoma.
