HIBAPRESS – Mohamed Zerouih
In a visit carrying many political and symbolic implications, the activist Mohamed El Bassraoui, candidate for the Left Alliance in the 2016 parliamentary elections, arrived from abroad specifically to support his comrade Hakim Chamlal, candidate for the same alliance in the 2026 elections, just a few hours before the end of the election campaign.
El Bassraoui, who previously led the Left Alliance list in the 2016 elections, was accompanied during this visit by a group of comrades belonging to the cities of Nador and Laroui, in a fraternal meeting that brought together leftist figures. The comrades rediscovered many meanings of loyalty to the leftist project and its continuity from one generation to another.
El Bassraoui's visit, who previously held the position of head of the regional secretariat of the National Union of Popular Forces party in Nador, and was also a member of the office of the Moroccan Association for Human Rights, Nador branch, carries a special significance, as it represents a symbolic transfer of support from the left's representative in the 2016 elections to its representative in the 2026 elections.
El Bassraoui chose to travel from abroad to be alongside Hakim Chamlal in the final hours of the campaign, in a scene that comrades summarized as a visit of support and loyalty to the left, and an expression of the continuity of the bonds that unite members of the same project, despite distances and successive electoral mandates.
