HIBAPRESS – Abdel Latif Baraka
Various areas of Al Haouz province are witnessing a wide mobilization, coinciding with the polling day on Wednesday, September 23rd, to ensure the electoral process proceeds under suitable organizational conditions, in light of the participation of 14 lists competing for the 4 parliamentary seats allocated to the province.
According to available data, approximately 824 regular polling stations and 66 central polling stations have been prepared to receive about 286,144 registered male and female voters in the province's electoral lists.
Throughout the election campaign, there was a noticeable field presence of a number of competing parties and lists. Some organizations managed to complete outreach tours in various areas of Al Haouz, achieving 100 percent field coverage according to data provided by party sources, through direct meetings with residents and local figures, presenting programs and candidates, and listening to citizens' expectations.
This field presence was one of the most prominent features of the election campaign in the province, given its geographical nature and the distribution of its population between urban centers and rural and mountainous areas. This forced candidates to travel long distances to reach various population gatherings and communicate directly with voters.
With the opening of polling stations, the competition has shifted from the stage of speeches and field tours to the stage of decisive action through ballot boxes, amid anticipation for the level of participation and the distribution of votes among the 14 lists, pending what the final results will reveal about the electoral map of the province.
