The Central Committee for the Election Campaign Management of the Justice and Development Party has called on the concerned authorities to adhere to the legal provisions related to handing over voting station records, following the receipt of complaints from a number of electoral districts.
The committee stated in a statement that it received information indicating that a number of heads of voting stations will not hand over the station records, claiming to have received instructions to deliver them by security officials. The committee emphasized that handing over the voting records immediately after the completion of the counting and tallying operations at the voting stations constitutes a legal guarantee for the integrity of the electoral process. It considered that not handing them over represents a violation of the provisions of the law and the directives contained in the circular of the Minister of Interior regarding the rights of candidates' lists' representatives to obtain copies of the records. The Central Committee called on the concerned authorities to take the necessary measures to ensure adherence to the legal provisions and to hand over the records according to the established procedures.
