Heba Press: Rabat
The Professional Association of Media and Communication Technologies announced in a statement, copies of which were obtained by the Heba Press newspaper, its full solidarity with its colleagues Hanan Rehab, Abdullah Al-Baqali and Younis Mujahid against the systematic defamation campaign targeting them.
I consider the same statement that this campaign affects not only the reputation of these eminent journalists, but also affects freedom of the press and the right of expression in our country. Stressing that these irresponsible practices serve only narrow interests aimed at restricting media freedom and silencing independent voices.
The statement emphasizes that the aforementioned colleagues represent symbols of the struggle for press freedom, and commends their continued efforts to defend the truth and uphold the values of professionalism and responsibility in journalistic work. Targeting them in this way is a lamentable attempt to undermine their integrity and impartiality in the responsibilities entrusted to them.
The Media Professionals Association called on relevant authorities to firmly oppose these malicious campaigns and work to protect journalists from any violations or harassment. It called on all colleagues in the media sector to unite and stand shoulder to shoulder in the face of these blatant attacks.
Considering that freedom of the press is the foundation of any democratic society and that any attempt to undermine it constitutes an attack on the rights of each of us.
