Former Brazilian star Roberto Carlos revealed that he lost about 99% of the money he accumulated during his football career, due to financial and family problems he faced after retiring from playing.
The Real Madrid and Brazil national team star, during his participation in the Portuguese Football Summit, said he faced problems with agents and individuals who were draining his financial accounts, in addition to a major family crisis, stressing that he made financial mistakes that he advises young players to avoid. Carlos explained that he lost control of a large part of his financial affairs after receiving documents he was unaware of, indicating that he was later forced to reorganize his financial and family situation. The former Brazilian international confirmed that he is currently seeking to transfer his experience to the new generation of players, warning them of the mistakes he made, and emphasizing the importance of planning for life after retirement and leveraging the player's name and commercial image.
