The Independence Party has criticized a number of practices it said accompanied the electoral process in some constituencies, while calling for the launch of a national dialogue to address what it considers a crisis of confidence in political action and elected institutions.
The party's Executive Committee stated, in a statement following its meeting on September 28, 2026, that the legislative elections took place in a "special context," expressing its regret over what it described as events, practices, and violations that marred the electoral process in some constituencies.
The party pointed to what it considered interference with voters through various means, including the use of money and pressure, in addition to attempts to tamper with ballot papers and the non-submission of result reports from some polling stations.
In another aspect, the Executive Committee addressed the low national participation rate, which the statement set at 38 percent, alongside the high rate of electoral abstention and the percentage of citizens not registered on electoral rolls.
The Independence Party considered these indicators to reflect, according to its interpretation, a weak confidence in elected institutions and political action, calling for the acceleration of opening workshops for "citizen reconciliation with political affairs."
In this context, the party proposed organizing a national dialogue with the participation of various active forces and civil society, with the aim of diagnosing the aspects of the confidence crisis and the malfunctions of political practice, and launching a new political dynamic, while strengthening public debate spaces and enabling parties to perform their constitutional roles in framing citizens.
