The police elements in the Oujda security directorate, on Wednesday, September 30th, managed to arrest a 34-year-old individual, suspected of involvement in a case related to committing a fatal physical assault.
According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security, police services opened a judicial investigation following the death of a person at the local hospital in Oujda, as a result of being subjected to a physical assault by strangulation in a public street. These criminal acts were the subject of a video clip circulated by users of instant messaging applications on mobile phones.
The investigations and inquiries carried out, according to the statement, in this case, led to the identification of the person who subjected the victim to this assault, before he was arrested on Wednesday.
The suspect has been placed under police custody pending the judicial investigation, which is being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, to reveal all the circumstances and details of this case, as well as to determine the real motives behind the commission of these criminal acts.
