Waste threatens water resources in Tangier

An environmental crisis is looming in the city of Tangier and will threaten the underground water supply of the Bugaz capital.
This fear follows the project carried out in the Manzala area, on the outskirts of the city of Tangier, relating to the allocation of a waste disposal site, a situation which comes directly after the Throne Speech in which His Majesty King Mohammed VI warned of the issue of water as an absolute priority.
This is a request that forces the authorities of the State of Tangier to seek new formulas for this landfill, which was built on an underground water basin called “The Balcony of the Eagle”, because it is the largest water bed and reservoir of drinking water in the city, while also noting the exhaustion caused by the spread of the agricultural sector.
