HIBAPRESS – Abdelatif Barca
The Tizki region in the Tata province witnessed a protest on Thursday, October 1st, which was attended by women from the area. This demonstration followed the death of a woman from the Ikdi village in the Tizounine commune. She had been bitten by a horned viper earlier this week, after which her health deteriorated severely.
The woman received first aid at the local health center before medical services decided to transfer her to the military hospital in the city of Guelmim. There, she was placed in intensive care. However, her health did not improve, and she ultimately lost her life due to complications from the bite.
During the protest, the women of the region expressed their dissatisfaction with the reality of health services in the province. They considered that the incident brought back to the forefront the residents' demands for strengthening medical resources and equipment, and improving the speed of emergency case management, especially in remote areas where the geographical nature imposes additional challenges on the transportation of patients and the injured.
