HIBAPRESS – Abdelatif Barka
The Al-Jadida Al-Jihadiya region, administratively part of the prefecture of Inzgane Ait Melloul, is experiencing growing discontent among a number of residents due to the increasing phenomenon of street vendors and unlicensed sellers around Al-Rahman Mosque. This leads to the occupation of public property and obstruction of traffic, especially during peak hours and after prayers.
Residents' complaints indicate that the spread of carts and vendors in the spaces surrounding the mosque also contributes to the accumulation of goods and waste. Furthermore, the unorganized commercial activity negatively impacts licensed shop owners in the area, who in turn demand the organization of the commercial space to ensure equal opportunities and adherence to applicable rules.
In light of this situation, residents are calling for the intervention of local authorities to organize the surroundings of Al-Rahman Mosque, curb the occupation of public property, and find practical solutions for the phenomenon of unlicensed selling that consider the social situation of the vendors, while preserving the smooth flow of citizens and the cleanliness of the public space.
