After a halt that lasted for more than three months and raised many questions, activity resumed this morning in the asphalt paving and street rehabilitation workshops from the Fountain roundabout towards Taouima road in the city of Nador.
HIBAPRESS witnessed the return of machinery and trucks to resume work on several routes that had turned into difficult potholes and bumps in recent weeks, disturbing drivers and hindering traffic flow in the city center.
The return of work was met with relative satisfaction from the residents, who welcomed this breakthrough, while at the same time raising repeated calls to the responsible authorities to speed up completion and ensure the quality of the materials used, to avoid repeating the scenario of asphalt erosion and the appearance of potholes with the first rains and downpours.
In a related context, these structural repairs contributed to elevating the road to the level of the Royal Army Street, which enhances its strategic position as one of the most important vital streets that ensure smooth traffic flow towards the city exit and relieve pressure on other routes.
Despite the positive impact of this rehabilitation, a number of small taxi drivers expressed their strong dissatisfaction with the management of this project. The professionals explained that the council should have adopted a flexible approach to avoid a complete road closure, emphasizing that this route enjoys extreme sensitivity and exceptional importance in daily traffic connectivity.
In light of these successive field developments and the conflicting opinions of stakeholders and residents between optimism and caution, the core question remains in the minds of the people of Nador: In your opinion, will the service this time be well-executed and sustainable, or is it just a temporary patch that perpetuates the infrastructure crisis?
