The First Secretary of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces party, Idris El-Guerguer, has outlined his party's conditions for participating in the government.
El-Guerguer, speaking at the National Council meeting held on Saturday, stated that his party's project advocates for linking public support to actually created job positions, investment contracts that include employment and training objectives, and the recovery of some benefits in case of non-fulfillment of commitments. This is in addition to proposing spatial equity coefficients to guide investment based on poverty, unemployment, vulnerability, and service deficits.
The party's project also advocates for an administration that respects citizens' time, transparent deals, protection for corruption whistleblowers, citizen participation that influences decision-making, and accessible justice that citizens can enforce its rulings.
From this perspective, El-Guerguer added, we view the Prime Minister's official invitation to government participation as a responsible choice, provided it is based on a contract that establishes reform priorities, defines its tools, deadlines, and funding, and ensures follow-up on its implementation and accountability for its results.
El-Guerguer called on the National Council to support participation that bears the Union's signature in its content and outcomes, an announced legislative agenda, audited funding, realistic deadlines, published indicators, and regular evaluation.
Lashkar stressed that the Union's presence should grant its project the ability to influence, open up opportunities for its competencies to serve society, and preserve its decision-making independence and the clarity of its references. He also stated that the availability of program comparisons provides a serious basis for renewing understanding among the components of the Democratic Bloc and building a reformist partnership with the Authenticity and Modernity Party in leading the government.
He continued, saying: "We align with Independence on integrity, linking responsibility with accountability, and administrative simplification. With Progress and Socialism, we align on freedoms, participation, representation, and the activation of institutions. And we intersect with Authenticity and Modernity on improving implementation, unifying program leadership, digitalization, and evaluation. It is our duty to transform this integration into a clear agreement, to address differences through dialogue and arbitration, and to establish governmental solidarity based on common commitments."
