The rainfall witnessed in several provinces of the Kingdom during the first days of October has contributed to improving the reservoir capacity of dams, whose total stock reached approximately 11.2 billion cubic meters, with a filling rate of 65.77 percent, according to official data released on Monday, October 12, 2026.
Water basins recorded the most prominent indicators of improvement, benefiting from the recent rains, especially in the southeast, while some northern basins, including Sebou, Loukkos, and Tansift, continued to register a decline in their water reserves.
Despite this revitalization, the water situation remains varied among the basins, while the national stock reflects a remarkable improvement compared to the same period last year, when the dam filling rate did not exceed 32.17 percent, which strengthens hopes for supporting water resources and alleviating water stress in the Kingdom.
