HIBAPRESS – Khalil Fazazi
The Association of former players and supporters of Jeunesse El Massira football club in Laayoune city has called on the local authorities to intervene to resolve the disputes related to the club's management, urging that those concerned be granted a deposit receipt based on the final court ruling, and holding accountable those responsible for the irregularities mentioned in its statement.
These demands came in a statement issued by the association on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, following a meeting of its executive office to discuss the team's developments. The association expressed its dismay at what it described as the state of control and irregularities characterizing the club's management, considering that the continuation of the current situation has contributed to hindering the fans' aspirations to restore the team's status and prestige within national football.
The association criticized what it considered a continuation of the deadlock and lack of consensus within the club, expressing its rejection of the general assembly scheduled to be held on October 24 of the current month in Laayoune city, which it described as "symbolic and illegal," considering that the circumstances surrounding it raise concerns about the future financial and administrative management of the team.
In the same context, the statement spoke of parties benefiting from the continuation of internal conflicts, accusing them of seeking to maintain the status quo and ensure the continuity of responsibilities within the club.
It also criticized what it described as a policy of rent-seeking for the benefit of close associates, considering that these practices do not serve the team's interests nor meet the aspirations of its fans.
Among the points included in the statement, the association demanded accountability from the club's Secretary-General regarding what it said were violations observed during his management period, and announced its rejection of what it described as his control over the team's affairs, noting that he has been residing outside Laayoune city for many years.
In contrast, the association expressed its praise for the efforts of the Wali of the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region, commending what it considered his endeavors to facilitate the resolution of pending issues related to the club.
It also noted the efforts of Sidi Hamdi Ould Errachid, head of the interim committee, praising what it described as his good intentions and the efforts he has made to serve the team.
This position comes amidst ongoing discussions about the future management of Jeunesse El Massira, one of the clubs associated with the sports scene in Laayoune city, with calls to overcome organizational and administrative differences, and ensure suitable conditions for the club's stability and the restoration of its competitiveness.
The demands and accusations contained in the statement reflect the association's position, pending clarifications from other concerned parties regarding the observations raised about the club's management.
