Milan strengthens its ranks with Brazilian Emerson Royal, from the English Premier League
Italian football club Milan announced today Monday that it has signed Brazilian right-back Emerson Royal from English club Tottenham for a four-year contract.
The Rossoneri said on their website: “Milan are pleased to announce the signing of Emerson Royal from Tottenham Hotspur. The Brazilian defender has signed a contract until 2028, with the option to extend for a further year.”
This experience will be Emerson’s (25 years old) first in Italy, after having had experiences with Barcelona and Real Betis in Spain.
Emerson Royal started his career at Sao Paulo in Brazil, before joining Atletico Mineiro.
He joined Barcelona in 2019, during which time he made little impact, moving to Betis. He then returned to the Catalan club in 2021, before joining Tottenham directly.
Emerson only made ten international appearances for the Brazilian national team.
