Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi definitively settled the debate regarding his presidential term on Saturday, confirming that 2030 marks the decisive end of his presidency in Egypt, and that this is a matter that cannot be discussed or debated again.
Sisi's statements came during his attendance at the graduation ceremony of new batches from the Military Academy and Colleges. He indicated that the decision to leave his post by 2030 is completely finalized, emphasizing his full commitment to leaving the state only when it is brimming with its people and strong institutions capable of continuing the march of development and stability. The Egyptian president stressed that the primary goal during the next phase is to consolidate the state's structure and empower young national cadres in various sectors, ensuring a smooth and firm transition for the institutions of the Egyptian state. Sisi said, "It is my duty to preserve the state and hand over its banner raised and flying high, pointing out that the armed forces are the fundamental pillar of national security and are the shield and sword of the homeland."
